WHY PONY CLUB?
Joining Pony Club at Pony Tales gives your child the opportunity to train and achieve NZ Pony Club qualifications in riding and horsemanship - without needing to own a pony.

Riders who join pony club will work towards their NZ Pony Club certificates.  To establish realistic goals, each rider has their own record card so they can acheive their goals according to their needs and ability. When the riders have achieved:

  • riding at a required level
  • horse behaviour
  • health and care
  • they will have the opportunity to sit their certificates


Also by joining Pony Club at Pony Tales riders can qualify on our school horses for Area and National Pony Club Events - something Kalinka, Nick, Mardi, Tally and Nero have done many times before.

HISTORY and SUCCESS

Pony Club was established at Pony Tales in partnership with Parenga Pony Club in 2009. In our first season all twenty riders passed their D Certificate (some of the riders pictured to your left). Last season our riders represented Parenga Pony Club at the Gold Cup. 

Coached by one of Parenga Pony Club members and NZ Mounted Games representative Megan Hooker, our members enjoyed their first fun day out at an open competition.Now in our third season many of our riders are working towards their C+ Certificate
